Eungella National Park

High above the surrounding plains, this mist-shrouded and forest-clad mountain refuge is one of Queensland’s most ecologically diverse parks with 860 plant species and a wonderful variety of wildlife. From Mackay, drive 80km west along the Mackay–Eungella Road to Eungella Township. At the head of the valley, the road winds sharply and steeply up the larke Range — not recommended for caravans.

Located just a short 15 minutes drive is The Port of Hay Point. It is the world’s largest coal export port and is comprised of two separate coal export terminals, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (leased from the Queensland Government by Prime Infrastructure Trust) and the Hay Point Services Coal Terminal (owned and operated by BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance).
